Cookies for Santa!
We made cookies for Santa last night! Jacob loved playing in the flour and thought it was sugar so grabbed a handful and shoved it in is mouth. You should have seen his face when he realized it wasn't:) Our cookie cutters are still packed away somewhere so I went to WalMart last night and they were all sold out except for this little brass looking ones that were way to expensive, but Santa needs cookies!
Jacob did a great job cutting them out since we use cookie cutters with playdoh. I frosted and he decorated! Papa and Nana came over for dinner and helped Jacob decorate. Of course I think Jake ate more than he decorated, but Santa is in for a sweet treat on Christmas Eve!
Speaking of, I am no where near done wrapping yet. I can't believe I'm so far behind this year!!! I can't wait to see their little faces on Christmas morning! So worth it!

Snow day!
We got a bunch of snow last night so after breakfast I asked Jacob if he wanted to go play on the back deck and he started jumping and running around! So we got all bundled up and went out back. I swear, I have never seen a child more in love with snow! He was making snow angels, eating it and just throwing it all up in the air. Logan had a love/hate relationship with the snow. He sat there and played with it until a tiny speck got on his face. We played for a little while and came inside where I gave Jacob his first cup of hot chocolate! He LOVED it!
I'm also happy to say that we have been accident free today and he has gone pee on his potty all day!
We have a busy weekend coming up! We have a birthday party and then 2 different Christmas parties! Can't wait to see the boys open presents this week!! Stay tuned!!

Olive you!
My son's new love.....
Olives!!! I tried to buy them cut up, but he refuses to eat them. They have to be the whole ones so he can put his fingers in them and then eat them! He could eat a whole can if I let him, although I don't think his belly would like that. He said to me today while eating them " "Mommy, I love Olive". It sounded so funny.
My kids are both asleep finally and I'm going to go catch up on some me time:)

Let it snow!
It snowed like crazy on Saturday so when we got home from our Holiday party I let Jacob play out in the snow while daddy shoveled the driveway and sidewalks. We got Jacob a mini shovel so he could help daddy and after about 45 minutes of him playing outside and making snow angels , he started to help daddy shovel the snow. When I went out to see if he wanted to come inside he said "NO mommy, Jacob is shobeling the snow!"
I have some big news! Logan hit 3 milestones yesterday! He said "mama" finally!! He also stood up all by himself without holding on to anything and he walked across the entire living room all by himself!! Again, I would be super surprised if he wasn't full on walking by Christmas!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Happy Holidays
I just love everything about the holidays, except one thing: I hate the cooties!!! I feel like we have been bouncing cooties back and forth since October. I have another head cold and it sucks bad. Mommy wants a sick day!!
We had a great weekend! We had our annual Toledo Parents Christmas party and it was a bunch of fun! Jacob had a blast running around with the kids and Logan loved watching all the big kids play.
We also had our pictures done with one of the girls in our mommy group. She did such an amazing job and I can't wait to do them again with her!
Logan is walking so much. I would be surprised if he's not walking by Christmas. He has 6 teeth now and is slowly starting to eat solids. He'll try bites here and there.
Jacob...oh my Jacob. We are entering the complicated age now. Jacob has such a little imagination. He won't sleep on his own anymore because he says that there are robots and spiders in his room. He also says that there is "shoop" out the window. We haven't figured out what it means yet, but until he gets over this, daddy has been sleeping with him. He loves Christmas and asks to go see Christmas light everyday. Every morning he wakes up and says "Almost Christmas time" He is such a little ham anymore:)
Stay tuned...we have family coming in this weekend and we'll be sure to take tons of pictures!

Catch up
It's been so crazy around here I forgot to update my blog;) Let's start with Thanksgiving. We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving. Jacob and I made turkey cupcakes on Thanksgiving Eve. Jacob had a blast with the sprinkles and suprisingly barely ate any of the cupcakes as he was decorating. I gave Logan a plain cupcake in hopes that he would eat it, but he just threw it at me. Seriously, who doesn't love cupcakes??
We had my family over for Thanksgiving and I was in charge of all of the sides and desserts. They were all so yummy and my Tiramsu Trifle was everyones favorite!! I definetly will make that again!
Jacob and Logan both had a blast putting our Christmas Tree up. Logan was more interested in eating the ornaments (go figure) and Jacob put every ornament that we handed him on the same branch:) We had to gate off our entire tree because Logan was trying to pull it down before we even had it half up.
What's new with the boys? Well Logan is almost walking. He'll take a few steps and then fall. The other day he took 2 steps and then stopped and took 2 again! I wonder if he will be walking by Christmas?? How exciting for him, but poor Jake has no idea what is coming his way when Logan can walk:)
Jacob has been a handful the past week. He has been fighting with naps and bedtime. As soon as we lay him down, he gets back up and opens the door. It's getting really annoying and I feel like I'm a step away from losing my cool so if anyone has any advice for me that would be great.

Jacobisms
I just want to post these so I remember them forever.
Daddy: "Jacob, that chocolate pudding on your face looks like poop"
Jacob: "Yummy poopy, Jacob eat poopy"
*5 minutes later*
Jacob: (while playing with his pudding) "Look mommy, poo art"
Mommy: "Jacob, quit being mean to your brother"
Jacob: "Mommy, quit being a turkey yak yak yak"
Mommy: "Jakey, can mommy sit in the wagon with you"
Jacob: "No mommy too fat"
I can't think of anymore at the moment. He is such a ham anymore. I can't believe some of the things he has been saying.
I want to print this blog out at the end of the year and want to remember all these silly things he says:)

Gushin about Jacob
I feel like gushing about Jacob today. I feel like he is growing to fast and it makes me sad. Last night he was talking to Nana about berries and it hit me that he is such a big boy. A couple months ago he couldn't say berries. He would say "mommy look, booies" It was the cutest thing and I didn't ever catch it on video and now I feel like that memory is gone forever. It makes me sad to think I'll never hear him say "booies" again.
His new thing is taking his shopping cart to each room to go "shopping". The other night he told Brad and I he was going to Meijer and then Target and he'd be right back. When he came back in the room we asked him what he got. He said "Milk, eggs, chocolate ice cream, snacks and Jacob used coupons!" We about died laughing. He was so proud of himself for using coupons! Just like his mama:)
When he rides his car he always says "gotta go mom, gotta get some gas, see ya next time, love you" all at once. I think Santa may bring him a little tikes gas pump this year. He loves filling his cars up with gas.
I just feel like all of the cute baby things he did are gone forever. I must invest in a video camera. Maybe Santa will bring me one:)
Jake's favorite thing now is tattoos like Papa's. He cannot get enough of them, which makes for easy stocking stuffers. He shows random people in the store and loves the put them on his belly. Let's hope this phase passes before he turns 18:) (excuse the fingerprints on the TV, Logan loves to hit it all day long)
Slow down little guy, mommy isn't ready for this. Sleeping in your own bed, going to bed without mommy and daddy lying with you, getting your own snacks from the snack cupboard and wanting to stay the night at nana and papa's. Mommy isn't ready for this yet, buddy:(

An update...finally!!
Well I finally can update, but with no pictures this time. I know I know a blog update with no pictures is boring but we have had snotty noses all week and snotty nose pictures are gross:)
The boys are doing great! Jacob was pretty sick on Halloween and only wanted to walk for about 5 minutes before wanting me to carry him the whole way home. Around 8pm he wanted to go trick or treating again so my mom and I took him around the block to collect some more candy. One good thing about going trick or treating 30 minutes before it ends is that people are trying to get rid of all their candy so they were pouring it in Jacob's bag. He luckily hasn't even asked for it to much so he hasn't been filled up on sugar!
Logan loved riding in the wagon watching Jacob go door to door. A couple people even came to give Logan treats, too, which he loved playing with. He has turned around so much. He is such a delight most of the time. Of course, we still have the hooked to mama's hip problem, but he's actually eating food and not nursing nearly as much as he use to. Actually last night he ate a whole plate of macaroni and slept all night! His new favorite thing is clapping his hands and saying "yah". It's to cute;) He just learned how to shake his head no, too. I think it's to early to be telling his mama no, but it's cute anyways.
We have been talking to Jacob a lot about Santa Clause and now every time he finds a toy that he likes I tell him that we have to add it in his letter to Santa and he says "please Santa" :) Christmas is going to be so much fun this year. I can't wait to put all the decorations up and take the boys for a drive to look at the Christmas lights with their hats and gloves and cocoa:) I love it!
Anyways that's all that is happening in our world right now. I'll try and update with pictures later.

Couting down the days
Jacob keeps asking me if it's Friday yet. He has been doing this since Monday because he knows he gets to go Trick or Treating on Friday:) I have tried and tried to get him to say Trick or Treat, but he will only do it for Brad and I and as soon as we get around people he says "Please Peoples" which is so cute in itself.
We carved two pumpkins this week. Jacob wanted nothing to do with it really because he thought it was full of cheese and we don't play with our cheese. Logan on the other hand was trying so hard to get inside the pumpkin.
Logan learned something new this week! He can clap his hands now:) As soon as you say "yahhh" he starts clapping and it almost sounds as though he is trying to say "yah" now. Another reminder that my baby isn't such a baby anymore. He has slept through the night twice this week, too! Such big milestones for such a little guy!
Jacob has been showing interest in the potty again! Hopefully I can get his butt back in big boy underwear before Christmas! It's so hard because I know he can do it since he was 100% trained for almost 5 months. He'll get there:)
We are still on the hunt for a bigger house. And my baby fever is still around. ;)

Little Boo at the Zoo
We went to Little Boo at the Zoo yesterday with the mommy group. Jacob had a lot of fun eating all the treats as soon as he got them. By the time we made it to the car, he had no more in his bag:)
My boys looked so cute in their costumes! It made me super excited about future Halloweens and how I can dress them a like next year, too:)
Last night we carved pumpkins. Jacob loved taking his scooper in there and pulling the "cheese" out. Yes, he thought the pumpkin was filled with cheese. Logan kept sticking his arms in there, too. He thought it was funny and kept looking at us like he was doing something wrong. I'll try and upload pictures of that later.
I have been working out again. The first day kicked my butt, but I'm starting to get use to it. I am so determined to lose the weight before we get pregnant again:)
Also, we are looking for a bigger house. We are busting out of the seams here. I am in desperate need of a play room or something for all of these toys. We'll let you know how it goes.
We are in for a busy weekend if the rain holds out. Lots of trick or treating and costume contests so hopefully we'll have more pictures this weekend!

Fall Frenzy
It's been so crazy around here this week, which is why I haven't had a chance to sit down and write in here.
Let's see, where do we start?
Logan got his top two teeth last week! They came all the way out in about 3 days, which was a horrible 3 days for me because he wouldn't sleep and used me as a teether. But now they are out and as cute as can be:) He even has the same big gap like Jake;) He is crawling with no problem now and is into everything! I take him in for his 9 month appointment tomorrow so I'm excited to see how much he weighs:) Yup, he's 9 months old tomorrow! I can't believe in a short 3 months he will be 1 year old. I just can't believe it!
Jacob is been, well he has been a bit of a handful. He has more good days than bad, but the bad days stink:) One a good note, he is sleeping on his own now. Sometimes it takes a couple times going in his room to lay him back down, but most times he falls asleep with no problem once I shut the light off.
I finally am going to the gym to kick my butt back into shape. I want to wear my size 6 jeans again before I get pregnant again!
Fall festivities are keeping us busy for the next two weeks. We have Boo at the Zoo on Thursday, Trick or Treating at Levis Commons on Friday, Old Navy Trick or Treating Saturday morning and then a Halloween Hike Saturday evening. Sunday we are going to the zoo again for the Pumpkin Path. We are exhausted but in a good way:)

AGAIN?!?!
Jacob has the cootie bug again!! I am so bummed! This makes three times already this fall. Poor guy! He had a little runny nose last night and then was up basically all night complaining that his "nose is stuck". And then this morning it was just a goopy mess! I feel so bad for him. We were suppose to go apple picking on Friday but I suppose that is out of the question. Our family Halloween party is Saturday and I doubt he will be better by then. Brad offered to stay home with Jacob while Logan and I go so at least we'll have fun:) I told Jake that Logan would collect his "treats" for him as long as he is good for daddy. Poor guy, I know he would have LOVED it!
We have been having sleeping issues with Jake for some time now. He, still at 2 years old, needs mommy or daddy to lay with him to fall asleep. Now that he is 2 1/2 I think he should be able to fall asleep on his own. So today is day 1 and I used the Super Nanny tactic. I put him in his bed and every time he got up I would go in there and lay him back down. He kept getting up and looking out the window, or reading his books and I even caught him trying to climb up on his headboard. Finally after only 40 minutes, I went in there and he was ASLEEP!! With NO crying! I expected at least an hour for the first day. So we'll see how it goes tonight! I know Brad is excited that he possibly won't have to lay with him in there anymore (sometimes it takes up to an hour).
So that's that. It's a gross, yucky day and I am going to go clean:)

I am a lucky girl
I feel like such a lucky mom today. Even though Jake was a terrible 2 year old today, I feel lucky that my kids are happy and healthy!
Jacob is finally getting out of his Thomas obsession stage, thank goodness! Now when we are at the store and he can see a Thomas toy or something he says "don't like it". I am especially happy about this because those darn trains are expensive!! And quite frankly I think Thomas is annoying, but I put up with it because it was his new "favorite thing" for a couple weeks.
I think we are entering our terrible two's finally. Today he ran from me. He has never done that before and it scared me to death. Luckily I had two extra set of hands to help me and run after him. I think it also had a lot to do with his lack of sleep. He has had itchy hands and feet for about 2 weeks now and it's keeping him up at night. We took him to the doctor but she said it wasn't anything but dry skin and allergies. Poor kid itches all night long.
Logan is becoming my little explorer. I never had to baby proof the house completely because Jake never cared to get into things, but my goodness Logan does. He will find the tiniest speck on the floor and try and eat. Go figure he won't eat solids but he'll eat dust and lint of the floor! He also is obsessed with the light sockets, which scares me! He sure loves giving mommy a run for her money.
We have been pretty busy with fall activities the past couple days:) It makes the days go faster and makes it almost closer to Christmas!!

Go baby go
Guess who is crawling? Yup, my little peapod is crawling like a big boy! I can't believe the milestones we have hit in just this week. He can sit himself up all by himself now and is even trying new foods. He usually only takes a few bites, but it's a huge thing for us!
Jacob is doing good. He is a regressing a bit with the potty training but the doctor said it was normal. He has been crawling around and saying "dada" so we figure it's because he watches Logan getting attention for all of his new milestones and feels left out. Don't worry, he gets PLENTY of attention. Nana and Papa have been taking him out for special lunches dinners once a week which has helped so much! He talks about it for days! I try and take him to the store by myself when Brad gets home so he can have some one on one time with me. We'll get there eventually!
I have started watching a 9 week old on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from about 7:30am to 5:30pm. It's a lot of work. Yesterday was my first day and I was in tears by the time he left. At one point I had Logan nursing on one side and Lucas eating the bottle on the other and somehow managed to get them both asleep and in their own beds. Today was much better and I'm going to give it a couple weeks to see if we adjust. If not, then it just wasn't meant to be. My kids come first and that's what I'm looking out for.
Other than that we have been crazy busy. October is always a busy month for us. Next weekend we are going to our first Halloween party together as a family which should be exciting!

Crazy days
It has been a couple of crazy days around here. As I'm writing this Logan is dumping Jake's toys out his toy box and Jake is dumping all of his puzzles all over the floor. Yup, and guess who has to clean them all up tonight? :)
Logan turned 8 months old on Monday and boy does it seem like he has grown a bunch! He just looks so big to me. Even Brad said something about how he doesn't even seem like a little baby anymore. I can tell Brad is really ready for another baby (or at least to try for one) but we all know the story there. It won't be for another year or two before we try. It makes me sad, but I know it's best for my family right now.
I had a lady come over yesterday to interview for a child care position I'm trying to get. While she was here, she asked Jake if it would be ok if there was another baby here all day and Jake said "Jacob want a baby sister" lol. I should know this week if I got that gig or not.
Jacob has been a bear the past two days.. He has refused naps and that's so not like him! He has been taking 2-3 hour naps for the past 18 months! Oh I hope he's not giving up naps already!! So the past two nights he has been going to bed at 7:30pm, which is actually pretty nice! But I'd rather have that 2-3 hours of peace during the day!
He is still telling me to get out of the bathroom when he has to potty, too! He sits there and reads his magazine and doesn't want to get out lol. So much like his nana:)
It's going to be a busy next month for us! There are so many things on our calender. Apple Butter Fest, Pumpkin Farms, Apple picking, Boo at the Zoo and of course Halloween! There are 3 mom's night outs in October and one Family Night out, so our weekends are booked solid! It will make the month fly by and soon it will be Christmas!!
Ok I'm getting ahead of myself now;)

Finally!
We are finally cootie free in our house! Thank goodness! It's been a long two weeks and we are ready to see our friends again!
Jacob is doing great! He had a potty accident this morning and he looked at me with his big blue eyes and said "accidents happen" lol. How could you be mad after a statement like that:) He's been sleeping great in his big boy bed all night long and is talking like you wouldn't believe.
Logan is blossoming. He is becoming *gasp* a little boy. He doesn't seem like a baby to me anymore. He is "crawling" so fast. I took Jake to the potty today and came out and couldn't find Logan. He had crawled all the way to the kitchen and was heading to his favorite spot: under the table! He says dada all day and now says baba and mmmm and smacks his lips when he wants to nurse.
Slow down little guys, I have a feeling it's going to be a while before mommy has another baby so let me enjoy this!
Brad and I are doing great as well. Brad has his daddy night out last night with my dad. They went to a football party. My mommy night out is Saturday and I'm so excited! I don't have to rush to get home to feed Logan since he's taking a bottle! Woo hoo!
Time to go clean since both boys are sleeping!

Jacobs Special Day
We took Jacob to the Playhouse Disney Live show yesterday afternoon. It was pouring rain so by the time we got inside we were soaked!! Then we stayed in line for almost 20 minutes to get a $8 drink, $10 popcorn, $10 cotton candy with a Handy Manny hat on it and a $18 light up toy. Yah, it was pretty outrageous but he loved it and deserved every bit of it. He was most excited about seeing Rocket and Goofy. We had pretty good seats and he was able to see everything really well. We just missed the confetti at the end by 2 rows.
Logan stayed home with my mom and my dad. It was the first time we have left him with anyone. He did GREAT! I pumped a bottle for him just in case we were longer than expected and when we came home 3 hours later the bottle was empty. My dad said he took it with no problem:)
Then I went out last night for 5 hours and pumped again and Brad said he started to get fussy and so he gave him the bottle and Logan drank it with no fuss and fell asleep!! Can you believe it?? He also ate baby food this morning (well about 10 bites but it was better than nothing).
It seems like we are finally getting out of this phase with Logan! Mom's night out is next weekend and I am sooo excited to be able to stay out as long as I need to!
I put the fall stuff out this weekend, too. Brad thinks it's to early, but I'm super excited! And then in about 3 weeks I can put the Halloween stuff out! Jacob keeps asking for it everyday!
We are finally cootie free and so ready to get out of the house! Hopefully we can do our mall play date with friends and Friday we are touring the fire station, which Jake is going to love!
All in all it's been a great weekend!

Dada
Logan has said his first word. Go figure it's dada!! Brad is just thrilled! I can see him smirk every time Logan says it, which is about every 3 minutes! Another reminder that my baby is growing up!
I took the boys to the doctor yesterday and Jake weighs a whopping 33 pounds!! I'm not starving that boy! Logan weighs 24lbs!!!
They both just have colds. The doctor said it is going around really bad and to just wait it out. Jacob has a double ear infection! This is his first one at 27 months old. I guess I should feel blessed that he hasn't had any before, but it still makes me sad. And now it makes sense why he was telling me that there were flies in his ear last week. Guess I should pay extra attention to those silly little things that he says.
So we are still here stuck in the house, but I think they are slowly getting better. Oh yah Logan only nursed ONCE last night! So nice to get some sleep!
I've gotta go, I hear my sick babies calling for mommy:)

Sickies
Yup, we have the sickies again in our house. I'm not sure how we managed to get them again, but we did and it sucks. Jacob is the worst. We have a doctor's appointment today to have him checked out. He was up all night coughing so bad. Logan has just started coughing this morning, along with the runny noses and sneezing. Oh the wonderful sick season!
I am just hoping it's just a cold. The boys had RSV last winter, when Logan was 7 weeks old, and the doctor told us that because they got it so young that they are more likely to get it again. Great. Just pray it's just a cold.
Our baby fever has been put on hold due to the fact that I don't seem to ovulate on my own, not to mention that Logan is still nursing so I couldn't take Clomid anyways. I hated taking Clomid with Logan, it made me so grouchy. So we talked and we have two options. 1. Wait until Logan is a year and wean him so we can start Clomid (hopefully we won't need it this time *crosses fingers*) 2. Wait until Logan weans himself (which could be when he is 8 hehehe). Who knows. We both know we want another, so I guess when it happens it happens.
We are going to Playhouse Disney Live this weekend. Jacob has been talking about it all week! I'm hoping the boys are better by then:( My wonderful mother got us super good seats right up front so I'm excited to see Jake's face when they come off stage to shake the kids hands. He's gonna flip:)
So that's what's new in our next of the woods. Chaotic as always, but so worth it:)

Logan
Since I wrote about Jacob the other day, I thought I would write about all the wonderful things that Logan has been doing. YES, there is good news:)
Logan is officially an army crawler. He scoots his little butt over to his Drop and Roar Dinosaur and plays with the balls. He also pulls himself completely up holding on to his Dino, but cries because he doesn't know what to do after that:)
He also ate baby food today!!! I have been trying and trying and he finally gave in! He ate Turkey and Rice and Pears. He's also starting to babble and I know mama and dada will be right around the corner. I hope he says Dada first because I know Brad would feel on top of the world:)
He loves his daddy so much now, as long as he isn't hungry:) I can leave for a few hours and he is perfectly fine! He still won't take a bottle, but I got him to take a cup finally by putting Juice in it. Brad even gets him to sleep better than I can anymore:)
I was in such a hurry for him to grow up and now that it's happening I want him to slow down. I have even been thinking about his 1st birthday. It seems like Halloween will be here fast and then Thanksgiving and Christmas and then it's his birthday. WOW! I'll be a mommy to a 1 year old and a 2 year old. Crazy mama;)
All this growing up sure is giving me baby fever again;)

Jacob
I have just been in awe of Jacob this week. He has come out of his shell so much. It makes me sad and happy at the same time. Sad because I know soon enough he won't need mommy as much anymore. Happy because I know that he'll do just fine when mommy isn't around. He has warmed up to Brad so much since sleeping in his big boy bed since Brad puts him to sleep. Even when he wakes up at night, he asks for daddy. The first night it broke my heart because I felt like I wasn't needed, but I'm happy now because I know daddy needed that reassurance that he was needed.
Jacob use to be the kid who sat on mommy's lap during play dates and wanted nothing to do with the other kids that were playing. Now he happily joins them and has a great time. It just seems like he has transitioned overnight to a toddler instead of mommy's baby.
Nana and Papa took him out for ice cream and then to Walmart to buy a new toy since he has been such a good boy lately. He came home happy as a clam. He told me that Papa pushed him really fast in the cart and he was laughing. He told me that they ate at I-bop (I-hop) and Nana shared her food and sauce and then they ate ice cream. He had so much fun being the center of attention and I'm blessed that I have my parents so close to take him to have fun when I know he needs the extra attention.
I feel emotional today thinking about how fast he is growing. Pretty soon I'll be waving goodbye to him on his first day of school. Slow didn't little man, mommy isn't ready yet.

End of Summer
We had a fun end of summer play date yesterday. A friend of Jacob's had a outdoor birthday party. It was a tad bit hot outside, but it didn't seem to bother Jake. He had a blast! He played by himself and barely noticed I was there, which everyone knows doesn't ever happen since he's so attached to me. He was swimming by himself and even was playing in the slip and slide. Today we went to the park with a couple friends and he was actually playing and talking. I think he may be finally outgrowing his "I need only mommy" stage. It makes me sad and happy at the same time.
There is finally some improvement with Logan!! I was afraid to post it on here because I didn't want to jinx it, but I think we're ok to talk about it:) He actually ate a meal on Friday, some avacado, carrots and a banana. He hasn't tried anything since then, but it's a start! He only nursed 4 times last night! This is amazing considering it use to be every hour.
My babes are growing up.
Well I must go get the little stinker in bed now before Logan wakes up from his nap:)

Fall is in the air
You can smell fall in the air...and I LOVE it! I'm so excited to take the boys outside and not be dripping with sweat. I love to hear leaves crunching under your feet. I love how quiet the neighborhood is now that kids are in school. Ohhhh I just love it!
I have been internet browsing today trying to find a matching Halloween outfit for the boys. Just something cute wear when we go to the pumpkin patch or something like that. Brad thinks I'm ridiculous for dressing them the same. I just love it! I can't stop myself. That is one of the things I love about having my kiddos so close in age.
We bought the boys their halloween costumes months ago. Jacob is going to be Nemo and Logan is going to be Squirt. Brad is trying to change my mind and have us all be The Incredibles, but I don't want to spend the extra money. I'm not sure if I'll dress up or not this year.
I'm so excited for Jacob to go Trick or Treating this year. Last year he had the mysterious fevers he gets and we were stuck in the house watching kids from the window. I bet he will love it! He already has the Trick or Trick part down!!
We went to Sidecut Park this morning. Jacob was crawling all over the play equipment. He was afraid to stand up. We take the blame for this. We are so darn over protective with Jacob that we are scaring him. So we let him be and he did great! It was harder for Brad than me:)
Our camera broke so we didn't get any pictures...bummer!
After the playground we walked to the river. Jacob had a blast walking in the shallow parts and finding tadpoles and craw fish...aka crabbies to Jake:) It was such a beautiful day and I am sad for Brad to go back to work tomorrow but I guess someone needs to work around here ;)

Cooties
How could you be mad at a face like that?
So you can now call my house the cootie house now. All of us our sick except Brad. I woke up to Logan choking while nursing because his nosed was so stuffed and me with a scratchy throat. Blah, the one thing I hate about the weather change.
I went to a little get together with the mom's group yesterday. There was a professional organizer there 'trying' to teach us how to get organized, though I think I got more ideas from the fellow mom's more than I got from her.
I also go tons of amazing advice from all the girls. They all know and are so understand when it comes to Logan's "problems". Nicole let me borrow her "NO Cry Sleep Solution" book and I feel good about it. I just started reading it today.
I left the meeting determined to stop breastfeeding. I walked through the door and the house was quiet for the first time. The boys were playing with daddy in Jake's room and Logan didn't even cry when he first saw me. He ALWAYS freaks out when I'm gone for a while and then cries until I nurse him. He was fine. I think that was my sign not to stop. He's fine when I leave for a couple hours, and I'll start pumping to leave a bottle just in case he gets hungry. Like the girls said "He'll eat if he's that hungry" I feel good about that decision.
So here we are stuck in the house....:)

Chaotic
We've had a chaotic day so far and it's only 2:30pm. Jacob is still sick and just whining about everything. He wants to be held and has asked to be rocked all day long. He hasn't asked to be rocked since he was like 10 months old.
Logan is just being Logan.
My dad was over today and could see I was getting frustrated. He reminded me something. They won't be little forever, why stress so much? He's 100% right. What's the point? What's the point at yelling when Jacob gets stamp ink all over his hands and desk. The mess can be cleaned.
What's the point of being so irritated at Logan wants to nurse all day and night. I'm going to blink my eyes and soon he'll be telling me not to kiss him in front of his friends.
It's not fair to my kids to be so stressed during the day. Who cares if I don't get the house clean during Logan's nap, spending craft time with Jacob is much more important. Who cares if my kids are wearing jammies all day because the laundry hasn't been done, playing outside with my kids is such a joy.
So I am trying something new starting today. No more stressing about the small things. It's just not worth it. I often get in the mind frame that my life is so chaotic and stressful, but it could be so much worse. There are so many people out there with real problems and I stress about cheerios being stuck in my rug.
I am truly blessed, now it's time to act like it.

Boogies
I feel like I have spent the majority of the day cleaning up boogies. Yup, Jake is still sick! Poor little guy! I have had his NUK in his mouth all day so he doesn't chew on the same things Logan does. Pray that Logan doesn't catch this:)
Speaking of Logan, he has decided to start pulling himself up on things now. It's not fun! He falls almost as fast as he pulls himself up. He'll get it soon.
Jacob has been learning new words like crazy! He came up to me today while Logan was nursing and said "Bubby eat mommy's milk, Jake eat food" It was adorable:)
We have been thinking about enrolling Jake in preschool at a local Montessori school just down the road. We are still on the fence about it and are taking a tour of the place tomorrow. I still very much want to home school, but seeing as how "attached" Jake still is at 2, we are maybe looking into other options.
We have also been thinking about baby #3. No, we aren't trying yet, just trying to figure out when the right time is. I so desperately want a girl! I of course would be thrilled if it was another boy, but I dream of pink and bows! Brad actually agrees with me on this one:)
Oh yeah, guess who is sleeping in his OWN bed?? Yup, my beautiful 26 month old that has slept with me since he is born in venturing out. He has been waking up a couple times a night (which he has slept through the night since he was 6 weeks old) but I figure it's because he is trying to get use to it.
Gotta go make dinner:)
